Pakistan’s heartthrob Fawad Khan has suffered a lot in his career in Bollywood since September last year but his last venture in India, Kapoor and Sons’ director Shakun Batra is hopeful of seeing home back in Bollywood.
“I spoke to him (Fawad) yesterday. I miss him and I wish he was here,” hoped Batra while talking to the media at IIFA’s green carpet. “Last year, we both were here together at IIFA,” he added.
“Unfortunately, we all know what happened. In the long run, let’s hope both the countries can again become friends and collaborate,” continued Kapoor and Sons director.

Batra is among very few filmmakers in Bollywood who are vocals about ban on Pakistani artists in India. While praising Fawad, he said “I miss him a lot. I don’t know if I am supposed to be quiet about it. I don’t miss him because of any other things, I miss him simply because he is a great guy and he is a lovely collaborator.”
The director also talked about Bollywood artists working in Hollywood and urged that Pakistani talent should be allowed in India the same way. “We Indians, who work around the world, we do it legally, similarly, if somebody else wants to work legally in our country, it should be open. It should be a two-way street,” he told.
