The glamour quotient at the music launch of much awaited movie Raasta was not less than any luxurious event. The event which took place in Karachi was attended by around 2,000 people. Not only the stellar cast of movie was present but well-known celebrities including veteran actress Shabnam, director Syed Noor, Shabbir Jan, Shaista Lodhi and Shehroz Sabzwari favored the launch by their presence there.
The affair kick started with the mystical performance of Jamshed Sabri and his friends on ghazal-maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s popular number, Dil Faqeer. The essence of qawwali instantly glued all pair of eyes on stage since inception of the event. Qawwals relied on the synchronised use of percussion instruments as well as the metaphorical use of imagery in its lyrics to induce a state of ecstasy within the listeners. Dil Faqeer is composed by Kamran Akhtar and Saji Ali and has lyrics written by Sahir Lodhi and Saji Ali.
“All I can say is that music is peace of heart. Event is pretty and very well arranged. Sahir Lodhi is star and hero of Pakistan,” said Jamshed Sabri.
Raasta is an action-thriller, directed by Sahir Lodhi, produced by Moid Ul Hasan, Dr. Faisal Zia and Sahir Lodhi and co-written by Shahid Naqvi and Sahir Lodhi. Film releasing on 23rd of March, 2017 has stellar cast including Aijaz Aslam, Shamoon Abbasi, Sana Nawaz, Naveed Raza, Abeer Rivzi and Sahir Lodhi. The exceptional part of this movie is its diverse music which includes variety of genre from romance to Sufi music to peppy numbers.
“Only one word to describe this night “beautiful”. I have never seen this type of music release and the idea behind it is to promote Pakistani movie industry,” Said Salma Asim. “People are fighting to crash the gate to enter the event, this shows launch’s success.”
Raasta, even before its release, has set a new benchmark for music industry by bringing the concept of glorious music launches which is rare in Pakistan.
